Abstract

This article examines the role of the dialogue between faith and reason in shaping the identity of the early Church. It shows how Jesus, master of word and dialectics, inspired a faith that integrates trust and discernment, a dynamic continued in the Acts of the Apostles through speeches that rationally ground Christian hope. Pentecost and the apostolic mission reveal that faith is not irrational, but enlightened by the Logos and sustained by historical testimony. It concludes that this synthesis of trust and argumentation enabled Christianity to establish itself as a universal movement.
