Abstract

The article presented aims to address the relationship that the Seventh-day Adventist church maintains with social action and migrants in São Paulo. The method used for this approach consisted of a bibliographical survey and field research. As a result we could verify that the Seventh-day Adventist Church acts with much emphasis on social action, through which it also relates to some groups of immigrants in São Paulo. This scenario is not new, but it has a history marked by the ideas of its main founder, Ellen G. White, who emphasized the social action and reach to the immigrants at the beginning of the movement, and that extends through conceptions sustained by the movement until the days of today. A reality within an extremely complex framework that involves the theme of migration in the city of São Paulo.
