O papel da filosofia na ciência da religião e sua rearticulação a partir dos clássicos

O objetivo deste artigo é considerar a relação entre filosofia e ciência da religião em perspectiva histórico-analítica, com as implicações decorrentes desta dinâmica a partir de três momentos que se complementam. Na primeira seção, discutimos o declínio da filosofia na disciplina, analisando primeiramente a anterioridade dessa relação (Hedley; Ryan, 2014), para depois tratarmos da separação histórica entre uma e outra, que resultaria na perda de diálogo entre ambas (Jong, 2024; Lews, 2015). Na sequência, consideramos a sugestão para uma filosofia da ciência da religião discutida por Gardiner e Engler (2024) em diálogo com Kanaris (2002; 2018; 2023) e Schilbrack (2014). Na terceira e última seção, tratamos do papel da filosofia nas origens da ciência da religião no século XIX (Figueiredo, 2022). Em conclusão, consideramos algumas questões no horizonte desse debate relacionadas a esse fazer filosófico dedicado à disciplina.
